A common question we hear from customers is, “Is there anyway for me to personalize my CTA buttons? I know that I can change the color, font, rounded corners. But is there more I can do?”
The short answer is yes, there is an extensive amount of personalization possible using either conditional personalization logic or the personalization widget in the DailyStory email designer.
Let’s look at some examples.
Personalize CTA Button Content
The text in the default CTA button support DailyStory’s personalization script:
When rendering the button each recipient’s email will personalize the button using the recipient’s first name. In addition to personalizing the button, the URL the button uses can also be personalized.
In the example below a custom value associated with the recipient is added to the URL:
Another, more advanced scenario, is to use conditional personalization logic, this allows logical choices of what do based on various properties for each recipient.
However, using this style of personalization logic directly in the email is technically difficult. An easier option is to use the Personalization widget.
Using the Personalization Widget to Personalize CTA button
The Personalization widget is a drag-and-drop email widget included with the DailyStory email designer.
The Personalization widget is a special content container. Add content to the container then specify personalization rules to determine when that content is shown. The widget makes it easy to use personalization in your emails without requiring use of personalization scripts.
In the example below two different CTAs are shown: one for existing customers and another for new customers. The “Call to Action Existing Customers” is selected and the Personalization rules state that it should be shown when the recipients Total Orders is greater than 0.
Using either DailyStory’s personalization script or the Personalization widget, you can accomplish any and all tasks for creating personalized CTA buttons for your email recipients.
